Hello I'm Natasha Simmons-Crutcher,also known as Sapphire tha Doula, Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, certified lactation consultant, breastfeeding peer counselor, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and Mental Health first aid person. Serving Nashville, TN + Virtual Clients Nationwide

The 2020 pandemic allowed me the time to become a certified, trained doula through Blissful Birthing TN. I went through seminars and drills that covered a variety of topics. From the training, I understand how to advocate for birthing people, how to fully support a person during labor, and how to support families post-delivery. As a mother of two, I have potential clients’ best interests at heart. I will fight for people to be treated fairly and ensure they receive the proper support.

With a heart for healing and a spirit rooted in community, I have been walking beside birthing people and families for over a decade. As a certified birth and postpartum doula based in Nashville, Tennessee, I offer both in-person and virtual support to help families navigate the powerful transitions of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

I began my journey supporting births as a teen and have been a certified doula for over five years. My professional training includes certifications through Blissful Births, Homeland Heart Birth and Wellness Center, and The National Black Doula Association (NBDA), where I also trained to become an official NBDA member. In 2025, I earned my Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential, allowing me to support breastfeeding and chest feeding parents with confidence and care.

My approach is warm, intuitive, and rooted in culturally competent, client-centered care. I create a safe, affirming space where every birthing person feels seen, supported, and empowered to make informed decisions. I also do placenta encapsulation services, which many clients find helpful in postpartum recovery.
I’m especially passionate about supporting all walks of life families and underserved communities, honoring the wisdom, resilience, and beauty of each birth story. I believe birth is sacred—and my mission is to hold space, offer knowledge, and provide unwavering support as families bring new life into the world.
